Warranty terms

1. Who is covered

This warranty covers the original purchaser of a qualifying installation for as long as that person owns the home where the floor was installed. It is not transferable. It ends when the original purchaser sells or transfers the home.

2. Qualifying installations

A qualifying installation is a new residential garage floor completed by Cheltenham Coating Company on or after the effective date under a signed contract that expressly includes this warranty, using our full-flake system: an epoxy moisture-vapor-barrier base, full decorative flake coverage and a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat. The invoice must be paid in full. Commercial projects, exterior work (including sealcoating and crack filling), partial-flake or other systems, repairs and recoats are not covered by this warranty. Those are covered only by the terms in their own contracts.

3. What is covered

Peeling or delamination of the coating system from the concrete, or separation between coating layers, caused by defective coating materials or our installation work, subject to the exclusions in sections 7 and 8.

4. What we will do

If a covered failure occurs, we will repair the affected covered area at no charge for materials or labor. We decide the repair method. We will make reasonable efforts to match the color and flake of the existing floor. Repaired areas may not match exactly, and we do not promise an invisible repair. A covered claim does not entitle the owner to replacement of the entire floor.

5. How long coverage lasts

For as long as the original purchaser owns the home.

6. Owner responsibilities

Keep the signed contract and paid invoice. Clean the floor with mild, non-damaging cleaners. Give us written notice within 30 days of noticing peeling, delamination or separation. A late notice does not automatically void coverage, but damage made worse by an unreasonable delay in reporting may be excluded. Cooperate in scheduling an inspection and provide reasonable access at a mutually agreed time. Clear the affected area before any repair.

7. Moisture and concrete conditions

This warranty does not cover peeling, delamination, blistering or other damage caused by moisture vapor transmission, hydrostatic pressure, water intrusion or groundwater, or by movement or failure of the underlying concrete.

This applies even though the system includes an epoxy moisture-vapor-barrier base. That base is part of our installation system; it is not a warranty against moisture-related failures.

8. What is not covered

  • Normal wear, including gloss reduction and traffic patterns
  • Scratches, gouges, chips and impact damage
  • Misuse or abuse, including dragging heavy or sharp items, tire chains and studded tires
  • Damaging chemicals, solvents, battery acid, brake fluid and harsh cleaners left on the surface
  • Hot-tire marking or staining that does not involve peeling or delamination
  • Damage or failure caused by alterations, repairs or coatings applied by anyone other than Cheltenham Coating Company
  • Failure of the underlying concrete, including cracking, spalling, settling, heaving or slab movement
  • Moisture-related damage as described in section 7
  • Fire, flood, freeze damage, acts of nature and accidents
  • Moving, storage, cleaning or lost use of the garage during inspection or repair
  • Incidental or consequential damages

9. How to make a claim

Call (215) 422-3399 or email Email us with your name, address, original invoice and photos of the affected area. We will schedule an inspection. If the failure is covered, we will schedule the repair.

10. Legal terms

This is a limited warranty. It is Cheltenham Coating Company's only express written warranty for qualifying installations. It is provided by Cheltenham Coating Company alone and is not backed or guaranteed by any coating manufacturer. Any implied warranties are limited to the duration of this warranty, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in this warranty excludes or limits any right or warranty that applicable law does not permit us to exclude or limit. Some states do not allow limits on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so these limits may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by state.

11. Existing customers

Contracts signed before the effective date, and contracts that do not expressly include this warranty, keep their existing warranty terms unless we both agree to a written amendment. This warranty does not change any existing contract on its own.
